{"id":39604,"date":"2026-05-20T16:16:46","date_gmt":"2026-05-20T09:16:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.itera.ac.id\/?p=39604"},"modified":"2026-05-21T16:21:31","modified_gmt":"2026-05-21T09:21:31","slug":"studium-generale-magister-fisika-itera-bahas-hilirisasi-nikel-dan-teknologi-green-smelter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.itera.ac.id\/en\/studium-generale-magister-fisika-itera-bahas-hilirisasi-nikel-dan-teknologi-green-smelter\/","title":{"rendered":"Studium Generale Magister Fisika Itera Bahas Hilirisasi Nikel dan Teknologi Green Smelter"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\" id=\"wpb-content-root\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<strong>ITERA NEWS \u2013<\/strong> Program Studi Magister Fisika Institut Teknologi Sumatera (Itera) menyelenggarakan kegiatan studium generale membahas seputar hilirisasi sumber daya nikel, Selasa, 19 Mei 2026, dengan menghadirkan narasumber Kepala Pusat Riset Teknologi Mineral Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional (BRIN), Dr. Fajar Nurjaman, S.T., M.T.<\/p>\n<p>Koordinator Program Studi Magister Fisika, Dr. Agustina Widiyani, S.Si., M.Sc., dalam sambutan menyampaikan pentingnya penguatan wawasan mahasiswa terhadap perkembangan riset dan teknologi mineral di Indonesia, khususnya dalam mendukung transisi energi dan hilirisasi industri nasional.<\/p>\n<p>Dalam materinya, Dr. Fajar Nurjaman menjelaskan bahwa Indonesia memiliki sumber daya nikel yang sangat besar dan menjadi salah satu negara kunci dalam rantai pasok industri global. Nikel Indonesia yang didominasi tipe laterit memiliki peran strategis, tidak hanya untuk produksi baja nirkarat (<em>stainless steel<\/em>), tetapi juga sebagai bahan baku utama baterai kendaraan listrik.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMelalui program hilirisasi, pemerintah mendorong pengolahan dan pemurnian mineral di dalam negeri guna meningkatkan nilai tambah sumber daya alam nasional,\u201d ujar Dr. Fajar Nurjaman.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>Melalui program hilirisasi, pemerintah mendorong pengolahan dan pemurnian mineral di dalam negeri guna meningkatkan nilai tambah sumber daya alam nasional<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Dr. Fajar Nurjaman juga memaparkan berbagai teknologi pengolahan nikel yang berkembang saat ini, mulai dari pirometalurgi hingga hidrometalurgi. Teknologi tersebut terus dikembangkan untuk menghasilkan proses yang lebih efisien, ekonomis, dan ramah lingkungan. Salah satu inovasi yang diperkenalkan ialah konsep <em>green smelter<\/em> dengan pemanfaatan biomassa sebagai reduktan untuk mengurangi emisi karbon pada proses peleburan nikel. Selain itu, peserta juga diperkenalkan pada peta jalan <em>(roadmap) <\/em>pengembangan teknologi pengolahan bijih nikel laterit di Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Tidak hanya membahas aspek industri dan teknologi, materi studium generale turut menyoroti pentingnya mitigasi dampak lingkungan dari aktivitas pertambangan dan pengolahan nikel. Narasumber menjelaskan bahwa slag dan residu hasil pengolahan mineral memiliki potensi untuk dimanfaatkan kembali sebagai bahan konstruksi, material bangunan, hingga amelioran tanah pada sektor pertanian. Pendekatan tersebut menjadi bagian dari penerapan konsep ekonomi sirkular dalam industri mineral guna menciptakan proses yang lebih berkelanjutan.<\/p>\n<p>Kegiatan studium generale berlangsung dengan antusiasme tinggi dari mahasiswa dan dosen Magister Fisika Itera. Diskusi interaktif yang berlangsung selama kegiatan menunjukkan tingginya minat peserta terhadap isu hilirisasi mineral, kendaraan listrik, dan pengelolaan lingkungan pertambangan.
