Hal tersebut dilakukan melaluipengamatan, pemahaman dan prediksi fenomena alam maupun perilaku sistem buatan manusia. Secara khusus, Fisika mencoba menjawab pertanyaan mendasar tentang sifat alam semesta maupun tentang prinsip-prinsip yang lebih aplikatif dalam pwersoalan lingkungan dan teknologi masa kini. Ruang lingkup dari Fisika sangatlah luas dan melibatkan matematika dan perumusan teoritis, pengamatan dan percobaan, komputasi dan teknologi informasi, teknologi serta bahan. Ide-ide dan metodologi yang dikembangkan dalam Fisika juga mendorong perkembangan disiplin terkait, termasuk kimia, komputasi, rekayasa, ilmu material, matematika, kedokteran, biofisika dan ilmu-ilmu kehidupan, meteorologi, dan statistik.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Fisika adalah disiplin ilmu yang terus berkembang dalam teori dan aplikasinya. Secara khusus, hal ini ditandai dengan gagasan bahwa sistem dapat dipahami dengan mengidentifikasi beberapa kuantitas dasar yang utama, seperti energi dan momentum, dan prinsip-prinsip umum yang mengatur mereka. Terlebih lagi, beberapa konsep dasar dari kuantitas utama ini berlaku secara umum dari dunia kehidupan sehari-hari sampai skala alam semesta maupun dunia mikroskopik. Dalam pengembangan teori Fisika, untuk mendapatkan prediksi yang kuantitatif, fisika mempergunakan pemodelan matematika.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pelaksanaan perkuliahan program studi fisika ITERA didukung sepenuhnya oleh ITB<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Visi PS Fisika ITERA<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cTerwujudnya PS Fisika yang unggul, mandiri, dan memenuhi kebutuhan Sumber Daya Manusia di Sumatera dengan kekhususan bidang material dan energi\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Misi PS Fisika ITERA<\/strong><br \/>\nUntuk merealisasikan visinya, PS Fisika ITERA mempunyai misi-misi sebagai berikut :<br \/>\n1.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Menyelenggarakan pendidikan yang bermutu pada bidang fisika material dan energi;<br \/>\n2.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Melaksanakan Penelitian Fisika di bidang material dan energi yang bermutu;<br \/>\n3.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Melaksanakan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang berkaitan dengan bidang material dan energi dengan memberdayakan peran serta pemangku kepentingan.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Prospek Dunia Kerja<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Alumni fisika dapat berkarir dibidang-bidang penelitian instansi pemerintah ataupun swasta, seperti: Perguruan Tinggi, Lapan, LIPI, BPPT, PUSPITEK, BMKG,\u00a0BATAN, Bank, Pertamina, Chevron, dan Instansi lainnya.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:
